Provided Gantry that erected 10 (400,000 lb) segments per day. Originall project schedule was to erect 1.7 segments per day.
The Launching Gantry reduced project schedule by 1 year. J. O. Dougall provided the mechanical design and manufacture of the gantry system (all the red machinery). Canron Eastern Structural fabricated the trusses for J. O. Dougall (in white). The project structural design was provided by JOHN OTTER ENGINEERING.
Tension-Riveted Aluminum Swing Stage Technology
When welding an aluminum structure, one must reduce the capacity of the welded members due to inherent brittleness of the material caused by welding. We created a tension riveted structure, it was lightweight and very robust. You can see this stage system used on the Gantry and the Window Washing Equipment.
